I hope to keep this blog true to the title, “Roam With A View”, tracking back and forth across the terrain, searching for ideas, observing life go by, my views and thoughts on travel and everyday happenings. The book from which I have punned the title – Room with a View by E M Forster is all about travel broadening the mind, how in Florence young Lucy Honeychurch is overwhelmed by the city ” For one ravishing moment, Italy appeared.”
I too love the city of Florence, it is a city that lives history, inspirational in architecture and art; one has only to look at all the books and artworks that exist in praise of these ochre buildings that nestle in the valley of the Arno to realise that it is indeed something special. For now I will write about other travels, book reviews and encounters near and far but, make a note of it, Italy will crop up from time to time in my wanderings.
